Pablo está estos días en Medellín. Participa en la primera edición del Docs Barcelona + Medellín. Tras 16 años con sede única en Barcelona, el festival ha decidido saltar al otro lado del mundo y ha aterrizado en Medellín. Docs Barcelona se ha convertido en un referente dentro del mundo documental en el Sur de Europa. Animados por ese éxito, han puesto en marcha una edición Colombiana. Con talleres, encuentros con estudiantes, proyección de películas y clases magistrales de varios directores. Conocemos desde hace años la enorme labor que hace Docs Barcelona por el documental, así que nos hemos apuntado sin dudarlo. Ayer Pablo participó de un taller de análisis de proyectos, hoy impartirá una master class en la Facultad de Artes. Parece ser que el festival está siendo un éxito de público y participación. Está teniendo enorme eco en los medios locales e incluso ha merecido una reseña por parte del European Documentary Network. Nos alegramos de que sea así. El documental, lo que hacemos, es siempre necesario. Nos alegra poder contribuir a que siga creciendo, especialmente en un país tan rico en historias y tan necesitado de contarlas como es Colombia.

Estamos de enhorabuena. Pura Vida acaba de ganar el GRAND PRIX del Festival de Cine de Poprad, en Eslovaquia. Nos hace una ilusión especial, es un festival que ya lleva 21 ediciones. Los premios se entregaron el domingo, lamentablemente no pudimos desplazarnos ahí. El sitio es precioso. Y deben de saber de montaña, pues hasta en el escudo de la ciudad aparecen unas cimas. Desde aquí mandamos un abrazo a nuestros amigos eslovacos. Sentimos mucho no haber podido reunirnos con vosotros. Muchísimas gracias por el premio, es un honor haberlo recibido.

We have just been awarded with the Gran Prix of the Film Festival of Poprad, in Slovakia. We are specially happy, it is a festival with already 21 editions in its history. The awards were given last Sunday, sadly we could not be there. The place is beautiful. And we think they must know a lot about mountains, they even have summits in their blazon. We send from here a big hug to all our friends from Slovakia. We feel terribly sorry, it is been impossible to meet you there. Thank you very much for your award, it is a big honour to receive it.

Los que seguís la actualidad montañera ya os habréis enterado: Ueli ha subido el Annapurna por su cara sur, en solitario. Fiel a su costumbre, Ueli resumió su experiencia con este mensaje: Summit, alone, south face. Es tan breve que podría ser el título de una película. A Ueli le gustan los rusos, dice en “Pura Vida”: “no hablan mucho, simplemente actúan”. Ueli en la cima del Annapurna, sólo, se convierte por un instante en símbolo del alpinismo más puro. Nos alegramos por él, ahora que está a salvo y feliz, de vuelta a casa.

If you follow the mountain news you already will now it: Ueli has climbed Annapurna from its south face, alone. As it is his style. Ueli just said: “Summit, alone, south face”. It is such a sort sentence that it could be the title of a movie. Ueli likes the Russians, says in “The Ridge”: “they don’t talk too much, they just do it”. Ueli, in the summit of mount Annapurna, turns into a symbol of pure alpinism. We are happy for him, now that he is safe, happy, back home.

Hola a todos. Por fin tenemos fecha de lanzamiento del DVD de Pura Vida. Será el próximo 25 de septiembre. A partir de entonces podréis comprar el DVD tanto en tiendas como online. El lunes 23 de septiembre confirmaremos los puntos de venta. Comenzamos con una tirada reducida, por lo que os recomendamos que no esperéis mucho para adquirirlo o reservar vuestro DVD. Recordamos lo que ya hemos avisado en ocasiones anteriores: no es sólo la película en DVD –completa, con subtítulos, con sonido 5.1-, es mucho más. El DVD incluye gran cantidad de contenidos inéditos. Todo el equipo de Pura Vida estábamos impacientes por poder compartir con vosotros todo ese material.
