Cuando decidimos hacer un documental, soñamos con entregar un mensaje a otra persona. Queremos comunicar algo a alguien, algo sobre la vida a alguien que no conocemos. Hoy hemos tenido una sorpresa maravillosa. Un paquete ha llegado a nuestro estudio. Lo hemos abierto, y dentro había una pintura increíble. Realizada por Ewa Berbeka, una artista polaca. Vio nuestra película, ” Pura Vida – The Ridge ” y le movió a pintar algo. La figura de la izquierda es su marido, el gran escalador polaco Maciej Berbeka, que abrió una nueva ruta en la cara sur del Annapurna. Murió el año pasado durante el descenso del Broad Peak. Todavía estamos sorprendidos por el poder de la pintura, es difícil escribir algo ahora. Estamos contentos de ver que hemos compartido nuestro mensaje con alguien, al ver que el mensaje llega de nuevo a través de una pintura hermosa. El arte es una maravillosa manera de sentirse cerca de alguien. Nos sentimos muy cerca de Ewa, su regalo ha sido muy importante para nosotros. Esto nos demuestra que tenemos que seguir contando buenas historias, historias que son verdaderas y bellas. Todo cobra sentido cuando cosas como estas suceden, cuando te das cuenta de que el mensaje ha encontrado su destino, que estamos conectados. Muchas gracias, Ewa. When we decide to do a documentary we dream of delivering a message to someone else. We want to communicate something to someone, something about life to someone that we don’t know. Today we’ve had a wonderful surprise. A package has arrived to our studio. We have opened it, and there was an amazing painting inside. It has been made by Ewa Berbeka, a polish artist. She saw our film, “Pura Vida-The Ridge” and was moved to paint something. The figure in the left is her husband, the great polish climber Maciej Berbeka, who opened a new route in the Annapurna South Face. He died last year while descending Broad Peak. We are still shocked by the power of the painting, it is difficult to write anything now. We are happy to find that we have shared our message with somebody, to find that the message comes back through a beautiful painting. Art is a wonderful way of feeling close to somebody. We feel very close to Ewa, her present has been really important to us. It shows us that we have to keep on telling good stories, stories that are true and beautiful. It all gets sense when things like this happen, when you find out that the message has found its destiny, that we are connected. Thank you very much, Ewa.
