Rusia, alpinista

To face alpinism I have made up some patterns for myself, to reach the summit. One of those patterns is that I have to stand everything while the ascent, such as putting up with weather conditions, feeding conditions, carrying my own personal acquitment… and even standing people.
It happens that one of your companions can be talkative, other irate, a third one can be very noisy eating, or his socks can stink. Those seem nothing but little details, but after a long time in a close group they become a critical matter.
This it’s common situation called ‘psychological compatibility’ and it happens in entourages such as astronomy, in submarines and, of course, alpinism.
The comparison of an expedition with a wolf pack is very accurate. Some call it comradeship. I call it alpinist brotherhood; same as the brotherhood on the front. At war, people use to gather in really rough conditions, with shots, death all around… A spirit of self-improvent emerges to overcome the hard weather conditions, through a specific period of time as a month, two, a year… and under those extreme conditions a special friendship emerges. Is a stronger friendship, deeper, that I call brotherhood.
You can consider the same for alpinists, as they gather in hard conditions as well. And when a tragedy arises, you can’t do nothing but to try to save that person. This is just my point of view.
It’s very touching that this gesture has been appreciate for so many people in the small Pamplona.
