El montañismo habla de una actitud hacia la vida; buscar una meta y atreverte a mirar a lo más alto para conseguirla. Todos deberíamos tener cosas a las que aspirar. Mi pasión es subir montañas, es lo que me gusta hacer. Y, para las cosas que te gusta hacer, no necesitas una explicación. Tienes que limitarte a hacerlo.
La montaña tiene mucho de filosófico, pero cuando estás en la cima no eres muy consciente de todas las sensaciones que te provoca, te centras en sobrevivir. Es cuando has bajado, y te das cuenta de lo que has hecho, que ves las cosas de otro modo; has ido a la cima y has sobrevivido.
En la montaña no somos más que puntos negros bajo el sol que buscan esa energía que te dan las laderas. Y sí, tenemos momentos de duda, de bajón, pero la pasión que sentimos nos hace seguir adelante. Todos tenemos pasión por algo y, para ser feliz, hay que encontrarla y cultivarla. Ese descubrimiento es lo que te hace ser la mejor versión de ti.
Iñaki ha hecho en todo momento lo que le ha apasionado y ese equilibrio interior que transmiten las montañas se nota en su forma de tratar a los demás, tener a alguien como Iñaki en una expedición es tener un amigo.

Mountaineering ha something to do with how you face your living; to get a high goal and dare to look up to achieve it. We all should have goals to look up to. My passion is climbing mountains; that is what I like to do. And when you like something you don’t need any reason to do it; you just do it.
Mountain has this philosophical consideration as well, but when you are on the summit you are not aware of all the sensations a summit makes you feel, you are concentrate in surviving. Once you are down the mountain you realize what you just did; you went up the mountain and came back alive.
In the mountain we are nothing but black spots under the sun looking for the energy of the hills. And we do sometimes feel faithless, and blue. But passion makes us keep on going. We all have to fill our lives with what passionate us. You just have to discover what is yours and grow it up. This inner search will help you become the best version of yourself.
Iñaki has always done what he has felt as a passion for him. Climbing. And as a result, when talking to him you can feel he has this balanced state of mind given by the mountains. Having someone like Iñaki in an expedition is having a friend.
