TESTIMONIOS: Horia Colibasanu

We are having such a great time editing the Pure Life film. We are listening to the words of our characters over and over again; to make sure we are not missing anything about this amazing story: people who risked their lives to save Iñaki’s.
During the next weeks we will share with you the most interesting thoughts they have shared with us.

The Summit is the most important thing for a climber. But alpinism is not only reaching the higher point, is also sharing this experience with your expedition crew: your friends.
Going to the summit together is what really worth it; no one should be alone up there. Iñaki has always said friendship is more meaningful than mountains.
My grandmother lived in a village up in the mountains and if you went to the top of it, you could look down and see the whole village from there. And that’s what life is about, trying to reach the higher place to see things from the whole picture from the distance. And that’s why I like alpinism so much.
Many people think we are crazy risking our lives. And it’s true that a tiny mistake can lead you to death. But I accept it. Because what I expect from life is not an expensive car, or money. That’s what happens nowadays, many people do what they ‘have to’ do, and after, at the end of the day, they feel bored, wandering why are they doing such things. This is the outcome of living in a society of cosmism. I don’t want that.
There is a proverb that defines what I think: ‘It’s better to live like a tiger than living longer as a lamb’. This is what I expect from life, been able to look down at villages, from the Summit of many 8000.
